As-Built

Also called: as-built drawings, record documents

Documentation reflecting what was actually installed — final device locations, cable routes, labelling, IP addresses, and configuration — rather than what was originally drawn.

Installations drift from design for legitimate reasons: an obstruction moves a camera, a pathway reroutes. As-builts capture the result, and they are what makes the system supportable by anyone other than the person who installed it. Without them, every future change starts with paid discovery.

Useful as-builts go past drawings: port-to-device maps, IP and credential inventory, DSP and control configuration files, and certification results. This is the package we hand over at closeout, and the package worth demanding from any integrator.
