Pixel Pitch
The distance in millimetres between the centres of adjacent LEDs on a direct view LED display, which sets the closest distance at which the image still looks continuous.
A rough field rule: minimum comfortable viewing distance in metres approximates the pixel pitch in millimetres. A 2.5 mm wall reads cleanly from about 2.5 m, so it suits a conference room; a 6 mm wall belongs across a lobby or above a concourse. Finer pitch multiplies cost quickly, which makes over-specification an expensive habit.
Pitch also drives content. A fine-pitch wall exposes low-resolution logos and compressed video that a coarse wall hides, so the content pipeline needs planning alongside the display.
