HDBaseT

A transmission standard that sends uncompressed HD video, audio, control, Ethernet, and power up to roughly 100 m over a single category cable.

HDBaseT is how a projector 90 feet from the rack gets a signal without a fibre budget. A transmitter at the source and a receiver at the display carry video plus IR or RS-232 control on one cable, and often power the remote end too, so a display needs no local power brick.

It is sensitive to cable quality in a way that data is not: HDBaseT wants solid-conductor, unshielded or properly bonded shielded Cat6/6A, terminated to spec and never sharing a jacket bundle with high-voltage runs. Most 'HDBaseT drops out at 4K' calls end at a hand-terminated field connector or a run pulled with a data-grade patch cable.
