Direct View LED
Also called: dvLED, LED video wall
A display built from tiled LED modules where the diodes themselves form the image, giving a seamless surface at any size with no bezels.
dvLED wins where a projector cannot fight ambient light and where a tiled LCD wall's bezel lines would ruin the look — lobbies, arenas, control rooms, retail. Because it is modular, the display can be sized to the architecture rather than to a panel catalogue, and brightness far exceeds what an LCD delivers.
The specification lever is pixel pitch against viewing distance, and the practical levers are structure and service access. A wall needs a flat, engineered mounting surface, calculated power and heat load, and either front-serviceable modules or rear clearance — decisions that must land before framing, not after.

- Pixel Pitch
- The distance in millimetres between the centres of adjacent LEDs on a direct view LED display, which sets the closest distance at which the image still looks continuous.
- Nits
- A measure of display brightness. Typical office displays produce 300–500 nits; window-facing and outdoor displays need thousands.
- Scaler
- Processing that converts an incoming video signal to the native resolution and refresh rate of the display it is being sent to.
- Rack Unit
- The standard vertical increment of equipment rack space, 1.75 inches per U, used to plan how equipment stacks in a rack.
