Microsoft Teams Rooms
Also called: MTR, Teams Room
A native Teams meeting appliance for a physical room, combining certified compute, camera, audio, and touch console so joining a meeting is one tap rather than a laptop connection.
MTR replaces bring-your-own-laptop rooms with a permanently signed-in room account. The room appears in Outlook as a bookable resource, meetings start from the console, and content shares either wirelessly or over a wired ingest. Because the hardware must be Microsoft-certified, device choice is constrained — which is a feature, since certified combinations are the ones that receive firmware support.
The work that makes or breaks MTR is on the tenant side: room resource accounts, licence assignment, calendar processing rules, conditional access exemptions, and a device management plan for updates. Rooms that 'stop showing the calendar' are nearly always a licensing or Exchange policy issue, not an AV fault.
