Managed IT Services

Also called: MSP, managed service provider

An outsourced model where a provider monitors, maintains, patches, and supports a company's IT for a recurring fee, rather than billing per incident.

The economics of managed services depend on prevention. A flat fee gives the provider a direct incentive to patch, monitor, and harden — because every avoided outage is margin — whereas hourly break-fix pays best when things break. That alignment, not the helpdesk number, is the actual product.

Read the boundary, not the brochure. What is covered, response and resolution targets, whether after-hours and onsite visits are included, who owns licences and documentation, and what happens to your data and configuration if you leave. Vague scope is where managed relationships sour.

Support305 designs and installs these systems across South Florida.
